Athletic Trainers (ATs) are healthcare professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. They serve as a connection between coaches, players, physicians, and parents/guardians. They also maintain the privacy of all patient health information. Ephrata Area School District Athletic Trainers are employed through WellSpan Sports Medicine.
Athletic Training Rooms:
High School Office:
· Located left of the women’s locker room in the high school gymnasium hallway
· Hours: Mon-Fri: approximately 1pm-9pm, Sat: as needed
Middle School Office:
· Located at the end of the Middle School Gym 1 hallway
· Hours: Mon-Fri: approximately 3:30pm-9pm, Sat: as needed
Student Athletic Training Assistants
High school-aged students interested in future careers in sports medicine, exercise science, kinesiology, exercise medicine, or general healthcare are encouraged to apply to be Student Athletic Training Assistants. Students observe alongside Certified Athletic Trainers on practice and competition sidelines and assist in the care of minor injuries. Students may also observe & assist in rehabilitation and treatment of student-athletes during after school hours. Students accepted into the program are expected to maintain proper academic status and remain professional, dedicated, and eager to learn. Contact Cindy or Abbie via Schoology for more information.
