Ephrata Area School District Superintendent Dr. Brian Troop has been named the 2023 Superintendent of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA). The award is part of a national program, established 35 years ago by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), to recognize inspiring leaders on the frontiers of educational leadership who create systems that prepare students for a successful life.
“While I am proud of this recognition, I believe it should more accurately be named the ‘School District of the Year!’ We all know that - from boardroom to classroom - we accomplish everything and anything together,” shared Dr. Troop.
Dr. Troop was selected by a PASA panel of school administrators who evaluated his leadership, experience, and accomplishments in the following areas:
- Leadership for Learning - Creativity in successfully meeting the needs of students
- Communication - Strength in both personal and organizational communication
- Professionalism - Constant improvement of administrative knowledge and skills, while providing district-wide motivation and professional development
- Community Involvement - Active participation in local community activities and an understanding of regional, national, and international issues
“On behalf of the school board, we are very proud of this accomplishment. Dr. Troop continues to provide focus that embodies innovation, collaboration, and integrity. His forward-thinking leadership has created opportunities for many successes districtwide. We are very grateful to have Dr. Troop serving in our community,” commented Chris Weber, EASD School Board President.
